Dordt opened the day with an explosive offensive performance, scoring in four of the five innings to win via the run rule.
Chloe Kreuz ignited the attack immediately, leading off the game with a solo home run to right center. After a quiet second, the Defenders broke the game open with a seven-run third inning.
Rylee Yager drove in the first run of the frame with an RBI single, followed later by a massive four-RBI home run from
Aubrey DeShaw to extend the lead to 6-0.
Peyton Whipple and Tera Lynn Price both crossed the plate later in the inning following an error and another Yager RBI single.
The power display continued in the fourth when
Sumaya Edwards launched a two-run home run.
